Autism Nova Scotia is excited to announce that Walk YOUR Way 2026 will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at locations across Nova Scotia. Both in-person and virtual participation will be available.
Walk YOUR Way is moving to the fall as part of an exciting evolution of the Walk experience. This shift allows for the launch of a new and accessible website, enhanced participant engagement, stronger community connections, and better alignment with provincial priorities – creating new opportunities to grow impact across the province.
This year’s theme, ‘Waves of Action,’ spotlights the collective power of community involvement, showing how everyone’s collective action and support creates ripples that build into meaningful waves of change for the Autistic community.

1. Why is Autism Nova Scotia’s signature Walk moving from June to September in 2026?
Walk YOUR Way is moving to the fall as part of an exciting evolution of the Walk experience. This shift allows for the launch of a new and accessible website, enhanced participant engagement, stronger community connections, and better alignment with provincial priorities – creating new opportunities to grow impact across the province. This shift also provides increased Chapter support during the busy program season, helping ensure a stronger and more impactful event for participants, volunteers, and communities across Nova Scotia.
2. What is “Waves of Action” and how does it connect to Walk YOUR Way?
Waves of Action is the 2026 theme for Walk YOUR Way. It reflects how every individual action – from registering, fundraising, volunteering, or spreading awareness – creates ripples that grow into waves of meaningful impact for the Autistic community. The theme highlights inclusion, belonging, and collective community action, while continuing to celebrate the inclusivity of the Walk event.
3. When and where is Walk YOUR Way 2026 taking place?
Walk YOUR Way will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Locations and further details will be shared soon, please stay tuned!
4. What does Walk YOUR Way support?
Funds raised through Walk YOUR Way support programs and services that directly benefit the Autistic community across Nova Scotia. This includes youth and teen social programs, adult support initiatives, summer camp, employment programs, and community resources. All fundraising dollars stay local and support the communities where they are raised.
5. When will the new Walk YOUR Way website be available?
The new Walk YOUR Way website is planned to launch mid-June 2026. We are currently in the development phase, focused on creating an accessible, engaging, and user-friendly experience for participants, teams, and supporters. Step-by-step tutorials will be available to help users navigate the new platform.
6. Can I still participate in Walk YOUR Way virtually?
Just like in previous years, participants can choose to walk, roll, wheel, run, and join us in person at one of our Walk locations, or take part virtually on their own time celebrating in the way that works best for them.
