2022 Best of Local

Host: Halifax 111, Clayton Park Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3M 1M3, Canada

Type: Special Events

The 9th annual Best of Local gala event presented by Stewart McKelvey was an incredible evening that celebrated 20 years of Autism Nova Scotia in the community and raised $100,000 for programs and services.

Attendees enjoyed local culinary tastings from two chef stations hosted by Dhaba Casual Fine Dining and Ori Foods. Guests also had the opportunity to watch Jen Richard from Hali Chees Boards create a beautifully curated charcuterie board, and enoyed lively musical entertainment from Leona Burkey.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of our inaugural Trailblazer award to an individual with a lifetime commitment to advancing the work of Autism Nova Scotia by creating awareness, acceptance, and opportunities for the autism community. We were honoured to present this award to our beloved founder Joan Craig.

Our Ben James Summer Camp raffle raised $26,000, which will provide the opportunity for Autistic youth to enjoy an amazing summer camp experience.

David Mills won two tickets anywhere Air Canada flies, thanks to the Air Canada Foundation.

Thank you to our partners, sponsors and donors for helping to make this such a successful event.
