About Autism Aviation Day
Autism Aviation Day offers Autistic individuals and their families a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of air travel in a supportive and welcoming environment. Participants will journey through the airport experience – from check-in and security screening to boarding – while learning more about the travel process alongside airport and airline personnel.
This special event goes beyond a typical Autism Aviators familiarization experience. Participants will board an Air Canada aircraft and take to the skies on a real flight over the Halifax area before returning to Halifax Stanfield. Along the way, they’ll have the opportunity to explore the aircraft environment, become more comfortable with the sights and sounds of air travel, and build confidence for future journeys.
Participants will also receive a special Air Canada swag bag and are invited to celebrate the day with treats and refreshments following the flight in the Observation Deck.
