Summer Camp (Truro)
Summer Camp is an inclusive one-week recreation day program for children & youth on the Autism Spectrum that takes place for 6 weeks every summer season. Each camper is supported with a 1:1 camper/counsellor ratio. Activities are designed to be fun, safe and sensory friendly.
Ages/Life Stage:
Children & Youth, Ages 5-14+
Description:
Parents and caregivers can rest easy knowing their children are enjoying fun-filled activities while and being supported by knowledgeable and dedicated counsellors. Truro Chapter Summer Camp is offered to children and youth on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 5-14+ years. Small groups of participants attend for ½ days (morning 9am-12noon, afternoon 1-4pm) for one week (Monday to Friday). Prior to attending camp, participants and caregivers are invited to a meet & greet to see the space where camp will be held, meet their camp counsellor, ask questions, and learn more about the types of activities they will have access to at camp. Whenever possible, participants are scheduled in groups with others who have similar interests or are close in age to encourage socialization.
