Regional Summer Camps

Autism Nova Scotia's Regional Summer Camps are a recreation program for children, youth and young adults on the Autism Spectrum. Each camper is supported with a 1:1 camper/counsellor ratio, and activities are designed specifically with campers’ needs and interests in mind.

Camper Status Notice

Please Note: All families will be notified of their camper status by May 31, 2026.

This year, we received a very large number of applications from families across the province. We reviewed each application carefully, starting with those received first. Many families submitted their applications at nearly the same time, and we understand how upsetting it can be for some to receive a waitlist notice.

Because so many families are interested, our initial plan was to offer at least one week of camp to as many campers as possible before looking at additional placements or weeks, depending on what spots were available.

For families who applied to more than one camp location:

We first looked at applications from the families’ local area, based on the address in their profile. If there were no spots available nearby, we then checked other locations that were closest to their home, considering the time their application was received in that region.

If your child has already been offered one week of camp but is on the waitlist for extra weeks or different locations, those spots will first go to campers who haven’t been placed yet. Once all the initial spots are filled, we will look at any remaining space based on when applications were received for those extra weeks or locations. If spots become available, we will contact you.

For families who are waitlisted:

If spaces become available throughout the summer, waitlists will continue to be reviewed based on application timestamps. Our team will be in touch should an opportunity become available for your camper.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process.
