4 Gardening Tips
Gardening is a great way to get outside, enjoy the nice weather, and practice building fine motor communication, joint attention, imitation skills, and more.
The QuickStart team wants to share 4 tips for gardening.
- Have little shovels, rakes, and watering cans available to allow your child to take an active role in gardening.
- Show them how to use the tool, and then give them an opportunity to try it themselves.
- Use gardening as an opportunity to explore different textures.
- Try taking a magnifying glass and looking for bugs living in your garden. Build on their joint attention skills by finding and commenting on different insects you see.
