Standing with Autistic People, Today & Every Day

Autism Nova Scotia stands firmly with Autistic people, today and every day. In a moment when misinformation can spread quickly and cause real harm, we want to be clear: our programs, guidance, and public messages are grounded in evidence and delivered in partnership with Autistic people and their families. We trust qualified experts and follow the advice of licensed medical and allied health professionals. When questions arise, we consult the best available science, clinical expertise, and lived experience to help people make informed, values-aligned decisions.
Our purpose is unwavering: to advance acceptance, inclusion, and self-determination so Autistic people can thrive at home, at school, at work, and in community. That requires action, more resources, stronger supports, and sustained investment in the places and programs that matter. It also requires working together across sectors, government, education, healthcare, workplaces, and community, to dismantle barriers, challenge stigma, and build systems worthy of the people they serve. Above all, we are here to help. We are here to listen without judgment, offer clear and accessible information, and walk alongside families as they navigate choices.
